We started this because we needed it.
When someone you love goes inside, the system gives you almost nothing. No clear instructions. No checklist. No idea what's allowed. Just a phone call, a list of rules nobody can quite explain and a long drive home.
We've been there. We made the calls. We packed the boxes that came back. We learned, the hard way, what 18 different prisons each accept and what they don't.
Prison Packs is what we wished existed. A small, family-run business that's done the hard work with Corrections so you don't have to. Pre-approved packs. Direct delivery. Nothing turned away.
We're not a charity. We're not the government. We're just people who think families deserve better than a maze.
Prison Packs is a New Zealand social enterprise. We run a real business with real margins. We've built community contribution into the structure of how we make money. Growth for us means more families served and more Re-Integration Packs funded.

Prison Packs was founded by three people who believe a business can do good and do well at the same time.
Josiah Murray
Co-Founder, Technology
Josiah built the Prison Packs platform from the ground up. Every line of code. Every system. He believes technology should serve people who are already navigating enough.
Kyle Fitzgerald
Co-Founder, Operations
Kyle makes sure every pack that leaves us arrives perfectly. He runs our logistics, supplier relationships and fulfilment. If an order arrives right, that's Kyle.
Paige Healey
Co-Founder, Community
Paige leads our relationships with families, prisons and community organisations. She is the reason the Community Fund exists.
The Community Fund
We built giving in from day one.
When we started Prison Packs, we kept thinking about the same person. The one whose family has moved on. Whose friends stopped visiting years ago. Who has no-one on the outside sending care packages or putting credit on their phone.
That person is real. They're inside right now. And they deserve support too. So we made a decision. 5% of every order, before profit, before anything, goes into the Community Fund. Not as a marketing line. As a structural part of how we operate.

Why nothing in our packs gets turned away.
Every NZ prison operates under Authorised Property Rules a national document plus facility-specific variations. We've mapped them all. When you order a pack for a specific prison, every item is already on that facility's allowed list. Sizes, materials, colours, quantities all checked.
We also include a Property Form Guide with every order so your person knows exactly what to tell their unit officer.
